Ben Hogan Introduces New CFT TI Hybrids — A Hybrid Club Worthy of Mr. Hogan's Bag
Carlsbad, CA, January 26, 2006

Ben Hogan Golf, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Callaway Golf Company (NYSE: ELY), today launched its new line of Ben Hogan CFT Ti hybrids, which feature a redesigned head for a lower and deeper center of gravity (CG) for enhanced playability and greater forgiveness.

"We believe that the CFT Ti hybrid is a golf club that Mr. Hogan, the purist that he was, would have put in his bag," said Drew Isaacman, Vice President, Brand Management for the Top-Flite and Ben Hogan brands. "It has everything he insisted on in a great golf club: top-of-the-line components and materials, meticulous craftsmanship and outstanding feel and performance."

The head of the CFT Ti hybrid, composed of a Compression Forged Titanium face and a 17-4 stainless steel body, has been redesigned from the original Edge CFT hybrid to create a lower and deeper CG. In addition to increased forgiveness, the optimal CG position opens up a wider array of shotmaking potential. It also makes it easier to hit, with a higher trajectory, from anywhere on the course.

Perhaps the most significant element of the new CFT Ti hybrid is its premium shafts. The stock graphite shaft is the Aldila NVS Hybrid in Light, Regular and Firm flexes. The NVS Hybrid features the same feel and performance of Aldila’s original NV shaft but with a higher launch and a more responsive tip for higher ball flight. The stock steel shaft is the True Temper Crossfire, the first alloy shaft designed specifically for hybrid clubs. The Crossfire is lighter for more accuracy and distance with a mid-flex tip design to get the ball in the air easily while maintaining ultimate control.

The classic Black Lamkin Crossline grip has a proprietary M2 rubber compound that adds tack and eases stress, with the Ben Hogan "sunburst" logo on the underside. The rich, black finish of the head results in a clean, sharp look at address and speaks to the unmistakable quality and craftsmanship that is the hallmark of any club bearing the Ben Hogan name.

The Ben Hogan CFT Ti hybrid is available in 0h (14 degrees), 1h (17 degrees), 2h (19 degrees), 3h (21 degrees), 4h (24 degrees), and 5h (27 degrees) models. The 2h, 3h and 4h models are available lefthanded. The CFT Ti hybrid is currently available at retail and carries a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $199 for graphite and $175 for steel.
