New Ben Hogan Apex F·T·X
Forged Transition Irons Showcase Design Changes
Easy to Hit Long Irons Morph into Feel and Control Muscle Back Short Irons
Chicopee, MA, January 29, 2004
Designed to appeal to the most demanding
players and shot-makers, the new BEN HOGAN APEX F·T·X (Forged Transition Set) Irons offer a club
head design that transitions from club to club, making each individual club a "specifically
designed shot-making instrument." The easy to hit long irons morph into feel and control
muscle back short irons.
"It's a stylish design that changes from club to club and essentially
morphs into feel and control muscle back irons," stated Tim Seitter, vice president of marketing.
"The APEX F·T·X set is truly unique in today's premium golf club market and will appeal to any golfer
who wants to improve their overall iron game and shot making ability."
- Starting with the longest irons (3,4,5), the club-heads feature
the perimeter-weighting of a cavity-back blade style, with longer blade lengths for improved
playability, and a muscle back within the cavity for improved feel and shot-making capability.
- As the set moves down from the long irons and into the mid irons (6,7), ball flight and
solid impact naturally become easier, while at the same time feel and control become more important
for great shot making. As each iron becomes shorter and more lofted, each individual iron design
changes with the blade length shortening slightly and the cavity back "shallowing" out, so more
mass can be added to the muscle back for improved feel and control.
- Starting with the
8 iron and moving through the wedges, the cavity back disappears entirely resulting in a muscle back blade
style. As the short irons become more lofted, the muscle back becomes larger, creating the ultimate in
shot making control and feel for the all-important scoring shots.
The Apex F·T·X Forged Iron Features:
- The top lines are consistently thin and appealing
throughout the set;
- The sole widths and cambers are designed for maximum playability from all types of turf and soil conditions;
- Progressive offset for optimum shot trajectory throughout the set;
- Forged from 1020 carbon steel for ultimate feel;
- Nickel chrome finish for long lasting jewel-like beauty
