PGA Tour Official Auctions Offers Collectibles On eBay

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- PGA TOUR Official Auctions is offering hundreds of unique and one-of-a-kind golf collectibles on eBay (www.eBay.com) from Thursday, Aug. 8 through Tuesday, Aug. 27, including an opportunity to tee it up with golf legend Arnold Palmer.

The auction will run during this week's Buick Open, the PGA Championship and World Golf Championships--NEC Invitational. All net proceeds will benefit charity, including The First Tee, CaP CURE and the TOUR Wives Association. The auction is accessible by going to PGATOUR.COM and eBay.com.

In association with CaP CURE, the largest private source of funding for prostate cancer research, the tee time with Palmer will include golf and lodging for a threesome at Bay Hill Lodge and Club in Orlando, Fla. Bidding starts Friday, Aug. 9.

PGA TOUR rookie Luke Donald and SENIOR TOUR veteran Terry Dill have done paintings for PGATOUR.COM that will be auctioned off, as well.

Donald, who won the 1999 NCAA championship, was an art major at Northwestern and will be doing an abstract motion of the golf swing. The bidding on his painting begins on Monday, Aug. 12.

Dill, who taught law at Texas A&M prior to joining the SENIOR TOUR, does impressionistic landscapes. His painting of the 18th hole at the Tournament Players Club at Jasna Polana will be auctioned off beginning on Friday, Aug. 9.

Other available auction products include autographed player memorabilia, tournament experience packages and apparel and collectibles from Sahalee Country Club, home of this year's NEC Invitational and the 1998 PGA Championship.

A number of items in the player product category are "in-game used" and all of the products are authenticated by the TOUR. Some examples of featured items are:

• In-game tournament pin flags signed by Tiger Woods
• TOUR Championship scorecards from Phil Mickelson's 2000 victory at East Lake
• Golf shirt worn and autographed by Davis Love III
• Lighter autographed by John Daly
• Autographed photos, pin flag and ball from defending PGA champion, David Toms
• Golf glove autographed by the late Payne Stewart
• Many other unique items from TOUR players including Fred Couples, David Duval, Jim Furyk, Greg Norman and Vijay Singh

Two "behind-the-scenes" packages are also being offered for this year's TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.

A majority of the player product was donated by the TOUR Wives Association, a non-profit corporation comprised of wives of professional golfers on TOUR whose mission is to provide assistance to needy children and their families through the means of charitable events.

This is the second auction hosted by the PGA TOUR on eBay. Pro Tour Memorabilia, a PGA TOUR licensee and distributor of authentic collectibles, is assisting the TOUR with auction management services.
